Hawzah News Agency- the Head of Iran’s Seminary Ayatollah Alireza Arafi has explained the importance of cohesion and interaction between the two nations of Iran and Iraq in a meeting with the governor, mayor and chairman of the City Council of Qom, which was held in the office of the Head of the seminaries in Qom.

During the meeting, Ayatollah Arafi stated,” One of the most important issues that the US, Israel and other enemies of the revolution and Islam focus on is creating discord between Iran and Iraq, and especially between the cities of Qom and Najaf; They have tried in this regard, but the instructions of the Supreme Leader and Grand Ayatollah Sistani in Iraq have neutralized these conspiracies until today. Efforts to bipolarize Iran and Iraq have always been made by the enemy, and it must be stopped.”

The Ayatollah further noted that strengthening all-round relations between Iran and Iraq, especially between Najaf and Qom, is of great importance, and fundamental. This policy should be pursued more seriously, so I recommend to form a working group to realize this important matter and to organize meetings in order to work on interaction and symmetry between the two cities of Qom and Najaf to realize this policy."

Ayatollah Arafi said, "The discussion of economic exchange between Iran and Iraq is critical; developing exports and facilitating the movement of economic activists of the two countries is also important."

Referring to the need for interaction and cooperation between the two cities of Qom and Najaf, the member of the Assembly of Leadership Experts emphasized, "Qom and Najaf must boost interaction and share scientific products; exchanging scientific resources of the seminaries is of great significance, and exchanges between these two cities can be effective in the relationship between Iran and Iraq."

At the beginning of this meeting, the officials of the City of Qom presented a report on their recent trip to Iraq.
